1984 Air España S.A. was founded and devoted itself to air transport of passengers.
1985 The commercial name Air Europa was born and formed part of a tourism and air transport group based in the United Kingdom.
1991 A group of Spanish investors lead by D. Juan José Hidalgo, purchased practically all of the capital stock.
1993 Air Europa became the first private Spanish airline company to operative national scheduled flights, opening a new stage in Spanish air transportation.
1994 Air Europa begins operating Madrid-Barcelona. With this accomplishement, the company made another notch in the history of Spanish aviation.
In 1994 Eurohandling, Unión Temporal de Empresas was formed in equal shares together with FCC Grupo in order to provide handling srevices to third parties at various Spanish airports.
1995 The company begins its first scheduled international flights: London and New York
Air Europa joins the reservations system Amadeus.
Grupo Air Europa was formed by Air Europe, Halcón Viajes and the tour opertor Travelplan.
1996 Air Europa maintains over 750 scheduled flights, incorporating 15 new routes over the year some of wich: Paris, Varadero (Cuba), Salvador de Bahía (Brazil), Asturias, Bilbao and Vigo.
The product Talonair 20 is introduced. Air Europa joins the reservations system Sabre.
Enters the internet and opens the New York Office.
1997 The group ends the fiscal year with a fleet of 34 aircraft and 500 sales offices.
