Schiphol airport has 5 runways all of which were active on the days of my visit, Most movements are on 06/24 and 18R/36L. the others 18C/36C, 09/27 and 18L/36R are use in peak periods or when the wind condition are east/west. All have places where you can view the movements as well as the terraces on top of the terminals.
To get to the off airport locations then a car is a must. Early morning 06/24 and 18R/36L can be accessed for photography once the sun becomes westerly only movements on 18R/36L & 18C/36C can be photographed easily,
For 18R/36L In the morning exit airport heading to The Hague (Den Haag) exit next junction to Hoofddorf head west on N201 beware speed cameras! The road bypasses the town then turn Right onto Drie Merenweg proceed until you reach the threshold of 18R turn right at traffic light pass the landing lights, turn right on to Ijweg. Contiue until the end of the road
In the afternoon, exit airport heading to The Hague (Den Haag) exit next junction to Hoofddorf head west on N201 beware speed cameras! The road bypasses the town then turn Right onto Ijweg this will lead you to a cross roads where you can either go right to where they are lining up to take off or straight on to the middle of the runway and a cycle path where a short walk will lead you to touch down point on 18R these spots are superb
